My name is Joy Ruhigisha Gihana, founder of Family Life and Beyond. I Have a Bachelors degree in Legal Laws (LLB) and a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology. I currently work as family/mental health therapist and also tech in the faculty of healthy sciences at Norquest College here in Edmonton. I am happily married to my best friend Lucky Gihana and have been blessed with 3 beautiful kids.

I am proudly Rwandan-Canadian. Born in Uganda, grew up in Rwanda and currently residing in Canada for the last ten years. 
When I am not working, I like to spend time volunteering in my community and my church. I also love to spend time with family and friends, love traveling, reading and swimming.

Sandra Muchekeza is the co-founder of Asili Kids, a children’s brand dedicated to the entertainment and education of children through African stories. Sandra started Asili Kids with her sister Dorothy to address the lack of children stories reflecting African realities. Asili Kids celebrates the connection between identity, culture and community for African children around the world. Born and raised in Kenya, she now lives in Canada with her husband and her two sons.
